A Scottish gambler has won £1.6 million playing an online slot.
The man, who is in his sixties, is from Rutherglen, Glasgow, has quit his factory job since winning a fortune of £1,659,372 when he played William Hill’s Pig Wizard online slot game. The win is reportedly the biggest win at William Hill thus far.
To celebrate, the man is planning a trip to Vegas for himself and his wife. But he also intends to make sure that his adult children are “well looked after”. He will also give some of his winnings to his family and friends. And to celebrate the family popped a bottle of Dom Perignon.
“I couldn’t believe it when I won it,” he said. “We are just so happy and enjoyed a nice bottle of Dom Perignon to celebrate. I was nearing retirement but now I can retire a wee bit early and put my feet up!”
The lucky man appears to belong to a close-knit family and is excited to share his winnings with them: “We’ve got a lovely family and to think I can make such a difference to their lives – just by playing a game, for a bit of fun – it is just incredible.”
